Mountains are places where the glory of God is revealed but also places filled with danger. Throughout our Scriptures there are many stories about brave men and women who are willing to bravely climb the mountain.

“Shadow of the Mountain” is the first book in a new series by Cliff Graham. The reader is invited into the story of Caleb “from the slave pits to battling a race of fearsome champions”.

The book is written in the form of a first person narrative from Caleb’s point of view. Caleb is a person who appears briefly within the first testament. The author attempts to paint a more rounded picture of Caleb and the adventurous life he led.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for the next installment.

4 out of 5 stars.

This would be a great read for someone who likes to delve deeper into what life may have been like for those who lived in Biblical times.

This book was received free from Graf – Martin on behalf of Bethany House a division of the Baker Publishing Group.

Review:

I will first admit I was excited to read a copy of John Hagee’s latest book. I have enjoyed his books in the past. I do not always agree theologically with Rev. Magee but he always provides some food for thought.

Growing up my grandparents often talked about the three heavens as mentioned in scripture explained heaven in simplistic terms.  Rev. Hagee expands upon what is heaven, where is heaven and what scripture says about heaven. Everything is explained in a simplistic, easy to understand language.

While I did not agree with Rev. Hagee theological.  I did enjoy his writing style and he challenged me to more deeply think about my faith and views of heaven.

I received a copy of this book from Graf-Martin on behalf of Worthy Publishing.
