I have been an avid maven fan since they started the maven box in 2011. It is my beauty treat.

In the beginning it was only nail polish with beautiful packaging. The Polish would often come in a little black gift box wrapped with bubble wrap and inside similar shipping boxes that they use today.

Over the years there have been delivery and product issues. It is a regular occurrence but I love their products.

More recently Julep has been putting a big focus on makeup. Their latest being the eye shadow sticks.

They come in 6 shades all are fairly similar and can be used together or alone.

I find the package feels cheap and half empty.

This is my second attempt to have shadow sticks that were not jammed into the lid during shipping. As you can tell they were all squished into the lid.

You have to be very careful not to drop the product on the floor.

If you can get past the cheap packaging and the damage in shipping the product is okay.

It goes on smoothly and is buildable. It has a good staying power. I don’t think I would buy these again. I don’t like that they are not as blendable as powder products and I cannot get a very dramatic effect.

I could buy dior or urban decay for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend buying these.

If you grew up in the Canadian Maritimes then you most likely grew up with Ghost Stories.

At one point in the 1990s CTV Atlantic developed segments exploring some familiar ghost stories with journalist Bill Jessome.

CTV has just released an archive of these segments. I am chilled just thinking about these segments I watched as a child.

You can view them from this link

This is the latest tea put out by tetley. It has the feature of being a closed drawstring bag to get “every last drop of flavor”.

I am normally a fan of loose tea rather than tea bags. I find there is more flavor in loose tea rather than bagged.

I brewed the tea in a pot, allowing the tea to steep for 10 minutes.

image

It has a rich dark color, almost close to a coffee color. There was a light vanilla aroma.

I found the tea lacking flavor and to taste slightly vanilla with a bitter aftertaste.

I did not enjoy the taste. I think this tea is more of a novelty than anything. I won’t buy this again.
1 star.

The sampler arrived and I am amazed at the number of samples.

It included one full sized wiskas cat food can, full sized ziploc vacuum storage bag and a full sized dishwasher cleaner. Along with many other trials.

I was very excited to get my eyeshadow sticks this month from Julep.

That excitement ended once I opened the box. They need better quality control. Smudged into the top.

The pictures just make me frown. I would hold off from buying these until they get better quality control.
